Meta AI Predicts How Secure is XRP Following Recent Ripple Security Incident

by Amy Lyman

XRP’s security outlook for 2027 looks stronger than the broader crypto environment might suggest, thanks to proactive fixes and layered defenses, even after recent vulnerabilities and massive exchange breaches. Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta AI predicts how secure XRP looks to be heading into 2027.

In early November 2026, the XRP Ledger activated the fixCleanup3_4_0 amendment. This closed a permission-delegation loophole that could have allowed accounts authorized only to destroy an issuer’s tokens (such as stablecoins) to create new ones under certain conditions.

Ripple confirmed that XRP’s native fixed supply of roughly 100 billion was never at risk, and no exploitation was confirmed during the ordeal.

The XRP price has been trading at around $1.11 for the past day and is down around -11% this week following a market-wide crash that has also seen Bitcoin USD fall to $74,300.

What Are the Recent Security Issues Within Ripple and the Wider Crypto Space?

Earlier, in September 2026, developers urgently patched a decade-old integer overflow in the payment engine (xrpld 3.4.1). Discovered via AI-assisted analysis by Veria Labs, it could theoretically have minted around 18 trillion spendable XRP in a single crafted transaction, far beyond the intended supply.

RippleX confirmed no evidence of exploitation on public networks and shipped the fix outside the normal amendment process for speed. A brief network halt in February 2025 and an earlier AMM-related issue also occurred without fund losses.

These incidents contrast with centralized exchange disasters. The October 2026 Binance breach (roughly $6.3Bn, attributed to North Korean actors) included stolen XRP moved later, but it was an exchange hot-wallet compromise, not an XRPL protocol failure. Similar large hacks (Bybit 2025, others) highlight custody and operational risks far more than the ledger itself.

Ripple and the XRPL community have responded with concrete steps. Engineering leadership has integrated AI-assisted code reviews, attack-surface mapping, threat modeling, and a dedicated red team into the development lifecycle; the red team has already surfaced multiple bugs.

Significant amendments now face multiple independent audits, expanded bug bounties and attackathons. Memory usage on validators has been cut notably with recent node software.

A 2027 roadmap includes roughly 24 protocol amendments (budgeted in the millions), WebAssembly smart contracts, lending pools, options and repo-market support aimed at institutional settlement rather than pure TPS chasing. Parallel work on post-quantum readiness targets progressive upgrades, with full capabilities eyed for later in the decade.

Meta AI Predicts: Does Mark Zuckerberg’s AI Bot Think XRP Is Secure?

Looking to 2027, Meta AI predicts XRP should rank among the more secure major ledgers. Its consensus model limits validator power (they cannot rewrite history or mint XRP), finality is fast, and core tokenization is protocol-native rather than relying on complex general-purpose smart contracts that have been frequent exploit vectors elsewhere.

The aggressive shift to AI-driven discovery and multi-layer auditing before feature activation reduces the chance of latent critical bugs.

However, adding lending, vaults, and programmability inevitably expands the attack surface; residual risks around implementation bugs, validator-set dynamics, or future quantum threats remain.

Overall, the combination of rapid response to the 2026 issues, ongoing hardening, and institutional focus positions XRPL more securely than many peers by 2027, provided the roadmap executes without introducing new systemic flaws.

Market Cap

Away from the Meta AI predicts Ripple’s security, XRP USD shows a short-term bearish bias for the remainder of Q4 2026. Price has been trading near $1.15, with RSI around 30 (oversold territory on daily charts) and price below key moving averages.

Immediate support sits near $1.14–$1.11; a break could target lower levels around $1.08–$1.10. Resistance is clustered at $1.17–$1.20, with stronger barriers higher.

Weekly structure retains some longer-term bullish undertones, but consolidation or further downside is more likely in the near term unless buyers reclaim the $1.20 area with volume.

Security progress does not guarantee price performance, yet a more robust ledger supports institutional confidence heading into 2027.
